Eye-Opening - The Pyramid-Scheme Wind Has Reached Programming, and OIOIC Wants to Rule the Software World, So Are You Scared

Recently, thanks to a post shared in a group chat, I came across a programming language that claims it will rule the software world. There's a repository on GitHub: zhao-oioic/oioic. 0 stars, 0 forks. The bulk of the code stopped at 1.0.18 in 2011. Yet the first line of the README reads:

OIOIC, Chinese name "Daozhi Programming", a high-wisdom programming language, fully compatible with the C language, a brand-new, all-excellent, fully featured OOP paradigm! The great Way is simple; follow the Way of Heaven.

I got into a group called "C Language OIOIC Daozhi Programming" and read through their "featured messages" and everyday chat, and only one conclusion remained: this isn't maintaining an open-source project. It's maintaining a set of rhetoric that forbids comparison, forbids falsification, and demands reverence. Below I lay out the public material and the group's own words for people to judge for themselves. In my view this is no different from a pyramid-scheme organization — the world really is run by amateurs; when did the pyramid-scheme wind blow into programming too?

What on Earth Is OIOIC?

The author is Zhao Pingzhi (also known externally as Bruce Zhao). In 2007 he released "Object Model v1.0", in 2008 it was put on Google Code, in 2009 Chinese and English tutorials came out, and in 2011 it stopped at 1.0.18. After Google Code shut down, it sank out of sight for over a decade.

In 2026 it was posted again to GitHub / Gitee, and given the Chinese name "Daozhi Programming". Technically it isn't a new language. It's an object-oriented mechanism layered on top of C: header files, implementation files, plus a small tool from back then called oicc. Adding objects to C isn't unusual. GObject, COM and countless macro-based object systems have gone down this road; C++ and Objective-C turned it into an industrial standard.

So the question isn't "has anyone added OOP to C before". The question is: what entitles a personal scheme that stopped being updated in 2011 to claim in 2026 that it unifies the software world and follows the Way of Heaven. The author's self-introduction on a forum in 2009 was already not an engineering comparison but an invocation of the gods: with it you can describe flowers, birds, insects and fish; atoms and electrons; Earth, galaxies and black holes; it perfectly fills C's object-oriented gap; perfectly solves multiple inheritance; unifies component specifications, code trees and object-oriented thinking; and unifies all high-level languages so that C becomes the first choice.

He also wrote that he doesn't consider C++ a qualified object-oriented language, otherwise he wouldn't have specially created OIOIC. The 2026 README adds three more "copyright statements": OIOIC belongs to everyone, and everyone should care for and develop it; it is free for everyone to use; and anyone who uses it in a paper must state that it is based on the original OIOIC. The first is a moral obligation, and the third is a pre-emptive claim on results. An open-source license governs use and distribution; it doesn't say you must cherish it, evangelize it, or put your name on it.

A Look at the Featured Posts in the Group Chat

The group requires newcomers to read the featured posts first. Two of them best illustrate the structure. In one, the only criterion is a single sentence: what makes the software environment clean, simple and harmonious is Daozhi ("Way-wisdom"); otherwise it is Kezhi ("science-wisdom"). Java, Python, C#, C++ and Qt each have their own syntax and rules, which add to the learning load and workload, count as "vicious meddling", and are therefore Kezhi.

OIOIC is C, so if you know C you know it, hence it's Daozhi; it is "fully featured OOP", so once you learn it you needn't learn anything else, hence it's Daozhi; it unifies interfaces and the code tree, hence it's Daozhi; it provides object access control, so the software world is safe and harmonious, hence it's Daozhi. Finally it rises to prophecy: once it becomes widespread, everything will necessarily be unified into C, all other languages will be thrown in the trash, and the world will be clean. The other post flatly forbids comparison: no other programming language or technology may be compared with OIOIC.

The reason given is that for more than half a century not one author has dared to shout "all-excellent, fully featured, solving the ignorance and chaos of the software world, leading it to high wisdom", so those inventions don't qualify for comparison. The reason others invented so many "messy things" is that they are Kezhi and worship "animal-style freedom".

What follows lists everything from FLOW-MATIC, FORTRAN and LISP all the way to Docker, Kubernetes, Spring, Transformer and OpenAI, collectively calling them "the excrement of Kezhi ants and vermin crawling on the ground". Qualification doesn't come from being used in industry but from "whether anyone dares to shout all-excellent". Whoever boasts the loudest takes the referee's seat.

Here is the actual group chat content:

No other programming language or programming technology may be compared with OIOIC! Read carefully the article in [Featured Messages]:

"What Kind of Programming Language or Technology Is Qualified to Be Compared with OIOIC?"

For more than half a century, countless programming languages and technologies have been invented abroad! Yet not one author has dared to shout "all-excellent, fully featured, solving the problem of ignorance and chaos in the software world, leading the software world to high wisdom", so none of these things they invented qualify for comparison with OIOIC‼️ Why did they invent so many messy things? Because they are all Kezhi; they worship animal-style freedom and love acting recklessly.

Here is a pile of them; Chinese people, don't throw up when you read it🤮

Daily Life in the Group: Slogans, Rankings, Mutes

The group's name literally carries the creed, with about four hundred ninety members. The group announcement says the owner is a student of the author Zhao Pingzhi, repeats "high wisdom, all-excellent and fully featured, follow the Way of Heaven", and drops Gitee / GitHub links. The group bot welcomes people in a loop: a high-wisdom programming group, no idle chat and no ads, read the [Files] and [Featured Messages] first.

The daily chat doesn't look like code review; it looks like a rehearsal. Someone says: in the future programmers will consider that if a project lead hasn't learned "O-programming", or rejects it wholesale, the team's future needs rethinking. Below it people line up to repeat: "Anyone who doesn't revere O gets shot on the spot." At other times the same line is typed in unison: "The development of Daozhi, which is awesome, needs everyone's joint effort!" "United we do great things!" "Right, you don't learn any other language." The hierarchy is spelled out in full.

Those who know O are planets: the Sun, the Moon, Earth, the nine planets. Those who don't are called SE, "subordinate free-floating bodies", which in the cosmic analogy are asteroids, meteors and rubble. Wisdom is drawn as three circles: Daozhi is the Way of Heaven, high wisdom, with the dotted line standing for no limits; Wenzhi ("inquiry-wisdom") is philosophy, medium wisdom; Kezhi is textbooks, low wisdom. When someone asked whether a certain diagram was written by AI, the owner said AI can never produce anything with wisdom, it can only write Kezhi and only solve problems within the scope of Kezhi.

Entering the Way is also written up as a set of methods: "enter the Way through illness, through suffering, through medicine, through martial arts, through books, through O." The programmers' own entrance is learning OIOIC. The engineering claims follow the myth. The owner said group members have already built a game with the "OIOIC game engine", and its development efficiency, runtime efficiency, server concurrency and throughput crush every game engine on the market.

The same person is planning an "OIOIC operating system": the real world has no virtual addresses, so real addresses can be used everywhere and processes get "zero-distance communication"; security relies on a "complaint mechanism", like neighbors visiting each other: if someone comes in without permission, you file a complaint. This isn't operating-system design.

It's deleting page tables, address spaces and privilege rings from the world and then pretending to be closer to reality. The outside world is written up as persecution. When someone asked whether there's any research progress abroad, the owner said "China is too low-key"; on spreading it, "there is no room for accommodation or compromise, and it can't be explained in depth — those who understand will naturally understand".

The next line: promoting it will certainly be obstructed by large numbers of Kezhi people, who are low-wisdom or even zero-wisdom, and who "make trouble with animal-style instinctive reactions" because they can't learn it. Someone also used "OSINT" to announce that Kezhi research on OIOIC already constitutes a significant threat.

Not making it into TIOBE is explained the same way: foreign Kezhi people can't learn it, so it can't get onto the Kezhi ranking.

O can't be called by its name; it must be called "divine-grade". Spreading it doesn't depend on whether you're a programmer. Someone said they'd bring the whole family to give tutoring offline and online; the owner said there is no tutoring, read the intro tutorial yourself. Then he turned around and asked a group member in operations to forward the information to "coworkers who do programming" at his company — who replied that no one in the department writes code.

Someone shouts "let Daozhi conquer the world", someone says this group of more than four hundred eighty people has "quite a lot of influence" and "the group members are all leaders in their fields". Failure means being too lofty, silence means those who understand are understanding, and muting is maintaining quiet. By the time I was reading these records, my account had already been muted by an admin for five days, and almost all of my messages had been recalled. I couldn't keep it together, folks — I'd really walked into a pyramid-scheme den.
